About Blume edUCATIONAL Consulting LLC.

MY EXPERTISE

FAMILY PARTNERSHIP

Blume Ed Consulting LLC provides consultation and support for families navigating special education. Suzanne works side by side with parents to review FIEs, develop effective IEPs, and understand next steps in the special education process—so families feel confident and supported in planning for their child’s success.

MY APPROACH

Suzanne's approach is building relationships with the school, teachers, administrators, and district supports. She wants to work closely with the school to formulate and implement your child's best FIE and IEP. She expresses the importance of an evaluation completed with fidelity that paints a clear picture of your child's disability. Suzanne is a highly skilled professional with diverse educational background. She works together with her clients to provide them with the next steps and to have a better understanding of what to expect from the school. As well as what the school is responsible for in providing your child with a successful school outcome.  She strives to have parents build a successful relationship with the school to best support their child's needs.

SUZANNE'S BACKGROUND

After more than 20 years in education, Suzanne’s work is grounded in a deep understanding of how special education decisions impact students, families, and school systems. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Special Education and a master’s degree in Autism and Emotional Disabilities with a specialization in Adult Education, and she is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Special Education with an emphasis on special education law.

Suzanne has taught across all grade levels K–12 and in a wide range of instructional settings, giving her extensive knowledge of disability areas with particular expertise in behavior support. She became a certified educational diagnostician in 2014 and has conducted evaluations in both public school settings and private practice.

At Texas Lions Camp, we view camp as a time for campers to explore, exercise curiosity, and discover new interests and abilities. We want campers to attempt things that would normally be out of their reach, such as riding a horse, or rock climbing on our ropes course, or just being part of a team.

Almost every activity at TLC requires more than one person to accomplish it. The premise is that we are not meant to be alone in life and can accomplish great things when we work together.

Not only is participation in the context of a team an important life skill, but it is also a pathway to self-esteem, boosting the multiplier of helping others accomplish their goals. Almost seven decades of experience has taught that children who invest in the success of others experience a heightened sense of self-worth and a renewed sense of purpose.

Our campers graduate week after week, having been introduced to actively pursuing friendships, goals, teamwork, and a passion we have found translates to life-long lessons for leading successful and purposeful lives.

 OUR MISSION

Hand to Hold® provides personalized support before, during and after a NICU stay to help ensure all NICU families thrive.

WHAT WE DO

Hand to Hold® is a national nonprofit 501(c)(3) that provides personalized emotional support, educational resources and community before, during and after a NICU stay. We are boldly removing barriers for all NICU parents to receive emotional support at no cost.

When babies need the specialized medical attention of the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), it is emotionally traumatic to the parent and disruptive to traditional parent-baby bonding. NICU parents are more likely to experience postpartum depression, anxiety disorders and PTSD.

Hand to Hold® provides support to parents at no cost to families and all support is designed with the emotional, physical and social needs of the NICU parent. Our caring professional staff team is comprised of NICU graduate and bereaved parents.
